久しぶりにコメント書きます。最近少しサイトの更新頻度が減っていたので心配していましたが、復活しそうな雰囲気で喜ばしい限りです。お忙しいでしょうが、いつも楽しみにしてるので、がんばってください。
さて、私の年代にとって、シビックハッチバックは特別な存在であり、個人的には日本で乗れなくなったというのは感傷的になりますが、今のマーケットの現状を見れば、しょうがないのかと諦めておりました。そういう点で、いつまでもハッチバックにこだわるのはどうか、と少し否定的に思っていました。
でも河口さんの、「また同時に最近のホンダは、デザイン展開でかなり迷いが感じられ、そんな中で珍しく迷いを感じさせない欧州仕様シビックに、現在の日本におけるホンダのイメージを変える力がある。」とのコメントを読んでなるほど、と納得しました。確かにあのハッチバックのデザインは停滞気味（恐らく）の最近のホンダデザインの印象を変えてしまう力があるかもしれません。昔のホンダデザインは完成度云々以上にインパクトありましたから（初代ＣＲＸなんか大好きでした）。その意味ではタイプＲだけにこだわるのではなく、ノーマルグレードも含めて新しいシビックハッチバックを日本で是非出して欲しいものだと希望します。

私もハッチバックを日本に入れてほしいと強く願います。
というか・・・
日本ではどうしても現物が見れない、触れないため、パリモーターショーまで行き、今帰ってきたところです。

現地においてもシビックは大人気らしく、ホンダのブースはものすごい人だかりでした。
月曜日に見に行ったのですが、地元フランスのルノー、プジョーといったブースは閑散としていたにも関わらず、シビックのブースは運転席に乗り込む順番待ちの列、そして、タイプＲの写真を撮る人でごった返していました。
（同じくらい混んでいたのは、Ｒ８と新型ＴＴを置くＡＵＤＩぐらいでした。）

現地の人に話し掛けてみたところ、
「このシビックはサイコーだ！ホンダは素晴らしい！」
「こんな良い車が安く買える日本人は良いな！」
と言ってました。
そして、日本では買えない旨を伝えると、
「えっホンダって日本車じゃないの！？」と困惑していました。

コクピットに座った感じもすごく近未来的で細部までしっかりと作ってある感じで好感がもてます。（ランチアやセアトはデザインが良くても内装は安っぽかったです。）

また、写真で見るよりも、細部の起伏がすごく考えられておりどの角度から見てもカッコよかったです。

ブースにいたスーツ姿のホンダ社員？に日本への導入を強くお願いしたところ、関係者には伝えますとそっけない返事・・・

このブログに共感する方が集まり、日本導入が現実のものとなるよう願っています。

びっくりです。現地まで出向いた方がいるなんて。
私はなんだかんだ理由をつけて自分を納得させて、セダンでもこのスポーツ路線が残るのであれば良いのではないかと思っていました。が、やはりハッチバックは無条件にすばらしいデザインだと思います。ここまでデザインでも感情に訴える日本車も珍しいのではないでしょうか？
でもセダンのタイプＲを全面否定する気はまったくありません。むしろ大歓迎なのですが、いかんせん元シビックハッチバックのオーナーなのであのデザインを見れば、なお更引き付けられますね。
この思いが何とかホンダに届いてほしいものです。

今更言う事ではありませんが、すでに先代シビック時代に今までのハッチバックシビックのマーケットは、フィットが担っているという認識があったので、日本市場にはセダンを導入しシビックというネーミングの灯を絶やさなかったというのが現在の形ではないんですかね。

これで、もしですが次期フィット（特に排気量など）が大きく成ろうものならハッチバックシビックを導入したところで、それこそ喰われてしまうのは目に見えているような気もします。

現行シビックは、アコードと同等のサイズになったことで、次はアコードが別のアプローチをするか、名前を消すのも遠いことではないのでは・・・・。

当方も初めての車がワンダーシビックで
思い入れ深いです。ハッチバックを日本で
も販売できる状況になればもちろん一番良いと思います。

でも私は河口さんの意見にはあまり賛成できません。S2000、オデッセイ、ストリーム、エレメントなど見てもどこのメーカーよりも冒険しています。デザインが迷っているとは思えません。

あれだけ車高が低いバン、オデッセイを出すホンダはやはりすごいなと改めて思います。

ストリームも真似されました。

売れなかったエレメントもすごい未来的なデザインでむしろ冒険しすぎて売れなかったと思います。

デザインが定まらないホンダがS2000作れるとは思えません。仮にそうだとしたらS2000はただのOPENカーになっています。

そもそもヨーロッパの人たちはDIESELやハッチバックタイプ好みますが、日本は違うでしょう？この辺のマーケット事情だと思います。

ども〜！おひさです。

８０年代の頃のホンダが大好きですが、
（ブルドッグの頃のシティ、CR-Xやワンダーシビック、リトラのインテグラ…）
そういう原体験（＝コア）があるからホンダファン、というのが、
３０代あたりには多いのではないでしょうか？
逆に、今のホンダファンは、どのクルマをコアにしてホンダが好きなのか？
などと考えると、ちょっと寂しく感じてしまう、今日この頃。

欧州シビックって、この頃の匂いがしますね。僕も好きです。
自分で作るなら、もうひとまわり小さく作ると思いますが…
（小さいクルマが好きなんです…(^_^;) ）

んで「ホンダのセダン」と考えると、
歴史を振り返っても、やっぱり存在感が弱いですね。
リトラクタブルのアコードくらい？

そんな昨今ですが、コンセプトカーの「FCXコンセプト」は、あれ、セダンの未来を十分感じさせてくれて、いいと思いました。
セダンであるべき理由付けも、ホンダにしかできない新しさや若々しさも、
うまく表現できています。
あんなセダンだったら、走ってる姿を振り返ってしまうかもしれない。
少なくとも、レクサスよりハッとする。

また振り返って、リトラクタブル時代のインテグラの５ドアとか、
ハッチバックでしたが「ホンダならではのセダン」と考えることもできる、
若々しい提案に満ちていたように思います。

ホンダらしいセダン…って考えると、
他のどの会社でも作れるコンサバで安価なセダンではなくて、
いろんなカテゴリーをフュージョンしながら、
新ジャンル感をものすごく感じるようなセダンを作って、
他社を圧倒して欲しいなぁ〜と、
他社から見てて思います。

ホンダのセダンですか。。
初代と2代目のインスパイアとかコンチェルトのような”アク”というか”香り”のようなものがあるといいのですが。。少なくとも今のラインアップにはそういったところも、クルマ好きがほれ込むようなところが無いような気がします。
唯一アコードがそれに値するのかもしれませんが、モデルチェンジでどんなことになるのか期待も不安もあります。
個人的には、Ｓ２０００ベースＦＲセダン希望です。（無茶言ってます。。）

この際ですから、今はハッチバックの話は置いておきます。

個人的には、ミニバンブーム以前の昭和から平成初期までは、少ないながらも「ホンダらしさ」のあるセダンは存在してましたし、買うユーザーもクルマ好きや拘りも持つ人だけでなく、今よりは広い層に売れていた筈でしょう？

初代レジェンドは国産初のエアバックを導入し、ユーキさんの仰るリトラクタブルのアコードは伯父が欲しがっていた記憶が有りますが、結局今はドイツ車を乗り継いでいます。
インテグラやシビックフェリオ（特にＥＧ）も、スタイルは勿論ＶＴＥＣの存在でスポーツイメージで売る事が出来た上、一方ではベーシックなタイプも近年よりは売れていましたので、如何に現行のシビックセダンが国内で失敗だったかが明白でしょう。

そういえば、インテグラも最後はセダンを落してましたが、それ以前の歴代４ドアも実用性と他社の４ドアに無い楽しさを兼ね備えた、今の目で見ても良いクルマでしたね。

私もＦＣＸなどを見て思いますが、デザインとしてもすごく良い提案をしてるものがあると思うので、その辺をうまく取り入れてくれると、コンセプトカーも生きてくると思うのですが。
しかしデザインって難しいですね。遅れてもだめ、先取り過ぎてもだめ。
車一台世の中に出すことの難しさは私の理解の範疇を遥かに超えてます。
でもやっぱり私にとって安い買い物ではなく、しかも車が大好きなのでメーカーには無理難題を言いたくもなりますね。

ホンダデザイン、ここ数年は迷ってると僕も思います（↑でS2000の話を持ち出された方、そのころは良かったと思います）。だからこそ欧州シビックショックがでかいわけで。
個人的に、シビックがハッチだろうがセダンだろうが、どちらでも良いです。かっこよければ。

確かに、最近のHONDAデザインは突飛なものが多いですね。ですが、工業製品デザインというのはどんなものであれ、消費者に共感させる事が大前提のはず。
大胆でも奇抜でも保守路線でも、それが多数の人に受け入れられなければいけません。
近年、自動車メーカーの多くは有名デザイナーを起用し、前面に出したプロモーションが多いです。ですが、これは非常に難しい手法でもあります。
個性的なスタイルは紙一重でアクの強さになり、モダンなラインの多用は機能性を損なうおそれもあります。
良くも悪くも、各メーカーそのさじ加減で頭を悩ませているかと思います。その加減の落し所が販売実績に直接響いてきますから。
冒険的な～、と言う発言を伺いましたが、企業は冒険してはならないものだと思っております。
製品として、顧客に費用対効果の満足度と利便性を与え、企業には利益をもたらすのが使命であり、企業的・社会的責任あるものに冒険という考えは許されないはずです。
ＨＯＮＤＡは、かつてより挑戦的企業でした。言葉は似ておりますが、冒険と挑戦は意味合いが違うのです。
ですが、顧客やファンに冒険と取られてしまうのなら、その事自体がＨＯＮＤＡの混迷を表してるかもしれません。
個性的だったから売れなかった、それは言葉が悪いですが企業の失策にしか過ぎません。
どんな目新しいデザイン・機能・性能であれ、それを消費者に「納得」させる責任があるはずです。
シビックで例えるなら、何故アコード級のサイズなのか、何故ハッチバックがないのか、それをおおよその人に納得させるものがないから、現在の状況があるわけです。
アコードがアキュラにいく（らしい）からその代替、フィットがあるから、先代ハッチは売れなかったから、、諸説紛々ありますよね。ですが納得できない消費者が多いから、こういった声が大きくなるのです。
しかも、それは状況的な理由でしかない。なぜなら私たちはジャーナリストの方も含め、企業機密に関わる将来展望は知り得ないわけですから。
何より現行シビック自身が多くの人に納得させる材料が乏しい事が原因ではないでしょうか。
ＨＯＮＤＡの持ちうる技術、デザイン力、販路等は第一線の実力だと感じております。
ですが残念な事に、そういった評価以上の販売実績は出せていないのが現状です。
そこにあって、欧州ハッチバックを目の当たりにして多くの人が絶賛している。それを欲しいと思うのはおかしい事ではないと思います。
シビックの導入の可否はおいといても、欧州シビック的な魅力を持つクルマ、顧客に満足と納得と、幸福を提供する製品を切に望みます。

私は古いホンダ車を知らない若造です。
本田はＦ１に出てレーシーなイメージを作ろうとしているのでしょうが、今のラインナップをみていると全くスポーティにみえません。

私の率直なホンダのイメージは「ダサイミニバンメーカー」
ホンダの車でほしいものはひとつもありません。
ただシビックのハッチバックだけは純粋に格好良い。ほしいと思えました。
技術はあるんだろうからデザインさえ変えれば皆さんの仰る昔の魅力的なホンダになれるんじゃないかと思います。その種がシビックのハッチバックだったら良いんですけど、今のような態度を見ている限り、、、

ダサイミニバンメーカー。
ほとんどすべての国産メーカーですね。
そうじゃないのはスズキとダイハツぐらい？

もう少しがんばって、ブログの更新をするべきですね。そうじゃないと、説得力がまるでないですよ。
先ず隗から始めよ。
これじゃ、ホンダのスポーツカーと一緒です。作ったら作りっぱなし、年次改良せずにほったらかし。

懇意にしているサイトの更新は待ち遠しいものですが、現在世界的にニューモデルの発表が多い時期なので更新は頻繁に出来ないかも知れませんね。
ともあれ、一ジャーナリストの方がこういったサイトを運営してることは嬉しい事。
辛口な御意見も尤もですが、私は暖かく応援したいと思います。
　
先日、今年社会人になった日産ファンの知人がショールームに行ったところ、自分に買えるスタイリッシュなモデルがなく肩を落として帰って来ました。
担当セールス氏曰く、Zを持ち出して「すばらしい車云々。クルマ好きなら云々。」と語られたとこのとです。
私も先日、面識あるHONDAショールームに立ち寄り上記の件を話したところ、どこのメーカーも、そういったエントリーモデルの無さに苦慮してるとの事。
さすがに新社会人にS2000を勧めないと言ってましたが、、、（笑）
しかしながら、F-1を観て、今の若い層がクルマに興味を持っても買いたいモデルが無い事を苦慮してました。
４ドアでtypeRが出るから少しは改善されるんじゃないですか？ともち掛けたところ、typeR指名買いの方は、HONDAの熱狂的なファンやマニアックな方なので多少高額でも買って行ってくれる。エントリーモデルとは言えないとの認識でした。
以前から、typeR発表時にそこまでは買えない顧客が値段的に下のグレードをお求め頂ける事が出来たが、今回はtypeRと普通のシビックセダンの狙う顧客層が違いすぎて、相乗効果があまり期待出来ない、とのことでした。
ミニバンが嫌だから仕方なくフィットの１，５T（スポーティグレード）をお求めになる若年層が彼の顧客に多く、ヨーロッパハッチバックのエントリーモデルがあれば、F-1のHONDAとしてもっと潜在的ファンの方にキャンペーン張れるのに、、と私的意見も伺えました。
どこのメーカーもラインナップ的状況は同じだと思います。
ですが、HONDAには他社に倣え的な戦略ではなく、そういったファンを漏らさずキャッチできるメーカーを期待したいですね。

まあホンダて今の所に止まって居ると言う事をしない会社ですからね。
マンネリ化を嫌いますよ。
セダンと言う選択は新たな挑戦とも言えるのでは無いでしょうか。
それがホンダと言うイメージではないでしょうか。

　私もホンダはセダンが苦手だと私も思います。
　私は日本の消費者が自動車に「無難な選択をする」という性格と無関係だとは思えないのです。
　「セダン」という無難な選択をするには「トヨタ」しかないのです、国産では。以前でしたらカローラでしたし、マークⅡであり、いつかはクラウンでした。色は白であり、シルバーなのです。
　他社のセダンは残念ながら、これらのアンチテーゼとしての存在だったりしたのです。
　そう思うと、今回のホンダの「セダン」「typeR」は、大いなる勇気を持った判断なのかなと私は思います。
　カローラでさえも全世界仕様になった今日、日欧米でシビックの性質が異なるのは当然のことと思います。
　スカイラインだって北米を向いてしまったわけですし（以前は国内専用モデルでした）。
　ホンダのセダンは「日本のため」にリリースしたのだと思います。むしろ歓迎すべきだと思います。
　ハッチバックは国産は安さ第一、というイメージがありますから（このイメージを作ったのは奇しくもシビックであったりシティであったり、マーチであったりスターレットであったりするのでしょうか）。高級（高額）ハッチバックは輸入車しか売れませんのでね。
　

奇しくも以前投稿したTです。上記のT様とは違いますので悪しからず。
今回のシビックセダンは北米でもリリースされてます。が、前後意匠などはスポーティーなものです。
おそらく、このスポーツ的なラインを持つセダンに、日本で売るにあたって御当地意匠変更したのでしょう。
前･･･細めのヘッドランプを年配が好きなBMWのライトのように下部を異形化した大型のものに変更。カローラ・シルフィユーザーを狙うためグリルはシンプルなものからメッキ面積の大き目のものに変更。
後･･･こちらも横長基調の細めのタイプから、これまた大きめ丸型ランプ２連という古典的なものに変更。
内装･･･ハッチバックの上下分割ディスプレイなどの先進気鋭のデザインをスポイルし、ホンダ得意の明るめのベージュ・グレー内装に。
シビックのセダンは日本のため？とんでもない。
元々海外デザインのものを、デザインの整合性を崩す前提で、カローラ・シルフィなどの購買層に受けようと安直な手直しをしたに過ぎないですよ。
もちろん購買層の、そのボリュームゾーンを狙うのも今のセダン事情としては正しいでしょうし、御当地デザイン変更だって的を得ているなら正義でしょう。
ですが結果はご覧の通り。販売台数もパッとせず、クルマのキャラクターすら薄くなり、シルエットがスポーティーなのに細かいディディールがカローラ然とし、ターゲット層が明確にすらならない。
結果としてハイブリッド車のデザインを日本版シビックセダンにしたようですが、その効果はさしてなし。
販売地域によってクルマの性格が違うのは、誰もが今や当たり前の事と認識しているわけで、歓迎されて、いや、売れているならこんな議論にはならないわけです。
もし、上記のTさんの仰るように、日本版として真摯に研究しリリースされたと言うのなら納得ですが、この安直ととれてしまう位置づけのクルマがホンダの勇気を持った決断だったのであれば、シビックファンとしては大迷惑ですね。
苦言を弄して申し訳ないが、ライバルのカローラはおおよその人が「カローラ」だと思える形でリリースされた中で、旧来のシビックファンから非難が多く出てしまう現状はいかがなものかと思う。
ホンダを担ぐのは簡単ですよ。「新時代のディメンジョンであの大きさです」
「ホンダセダン不振にあって、どんな形でもシビックセダンを出してくれホンダに拍手！」「もはやカローラはライバルではありません。シビックは量販車種ではなく、新しい感性を持たれたお客様に御提案するセダンなのです。」云々。
ですが、本当にシビックを思うなら、惨憺たる販売台数や私のようなマイナス意見を述べてしまう人々が出てしまう状況を憂いてしまうものじゃないでしょうか。
未だに元気よくパートナーとして走る、ワンダーシビック、スポーツシビック、シビックフェリオetc、、時代は違えど、シビックはもっと身近なパートナーだったはず。
セダンが不振だから、時代だから、、確かに売れない原因にはそういった側面も多々ありますが、一番は「多くの人を魅了できないから」じゃないでしょうか。
私なら、「多くの人を魅了する」シビックを歓迎したいです。

ホンダがどんな良いセダンを作っても日本では売れないと思います、セダンを選択するような日本人は保守的な人が多くてそのような人はやはり日産やトヨタを選ぶのではないでしょうか、アキュラを日本に導入するようですが相当気合を入れて勝負をかけないと苦しいのでは。

デザインに関しては「迷い」というより単純に『技量』がないと思います。コンセプトやアイデアに頼りすぎていてたまに出る上手いデザインもまぐれ当たりでしかないように思えます、だから2代続けてヒット作が出せないのだとも思います。

S2000はホンダがエンジンもシャシーもサスもミッションも専用に作った車です、機械として悪い訳ないですよね、でもだからこそあの凡庸なデザインが悔しくて残念でならないです、モータショーでのスタディモデルと市販車との違いに絶句したのを覚えています、もしS2000の外装がもっと魅力的なデザインだったなら・・・　　TTのようにいまごろ2代目モデルがモーターショーで発表されてる頃じゃないでしょうか

現行型アコードユーロＲに乗っています。

車歴はインテグラ→トルネオＳｉＲ→現車という、ホンダ車ばかりを乗り継いできました。

ホンダの車種戦略…難しいですよね。特にセダンは。

フィットが爆発的に売れ始めたころからシビックの将来は暗いと思ってはいましたが、まさかシビックが今度はアコードの立場を危うくするほど巨大化するとは、またユーロＲの存在意義を揺るがすシビックタイプＲが４ドアセダンで出るとは、予想外でした。

他のかたがおっしゃるように、シビックの大型化は国際化と、アコードのアキュラ店移動の布石というのが正しい見方なんでしょうが…。

私はユーロＲを大変気に入っていて、河口さんが各メディアでユーロＲを高評価して下さるのを大変嬉しく思っています。（最近のＢＣ誌のランキングでもトップに評価していましたね）

今の情勢ではどうやら次期ユーロＲは私の買える金額を超えてしまうかもしれません。

しかし、他のメーカーでも起こりうるように、今までアコードに乗っていたのが、車格を上げて大きくなったからシビックに乗り換えるかというと、ちょっと抵抗があります。

次はついにホンダとお別れかもしれませんね。。。

寂しいですが、少なくともミニバンに乗るつもりはありませんので、アテンザあたりに流れそうです。

ところで、ホンダのセダンが売れない理由は、これも既出ですが、セダン＝保守＝トヨタ＝ＦＲということなのだと思います。

確かにマークⅡやクラウンオーナーがインスパイアやレジェンドに流れてくるとは思えません。
そこにはトヨタ神話とＦＲ神話が横たわっているように感じます。

あとはデザインでしょうか。これは多分に主観的なものなので一概には言えませんが、私は、現行インスパイアがデビューしたとき、よくもこんなかっこ悪いデザインができたもんだなと、激しく失望しました。

なんというか、あれを良いと思っているホンダデザイン部や上層部の感性は、絶対おかしいとすら感じました。（言い過ぎ？）

私は少なくともＦＦであることに抵抗はありませんが、年齢を重ねてアコードを卒業するとき、あんなインスパイアなら間違いなく買いません。

私には、ホンダのデザインは奇抜さと先進さを混同しているように思えてなりません。

わたしが車に興味を持ち始めた頃のホンダ車のかっこ良さ、シビック・インテグラ・プレリュード。

あの頃の輝きをホンダが取り戻してくれるのを、願ってやみません。
